[Craft Masters of Japan]

In the city of Nanto, Toyama Prefecture,  textile production has been an essential part of its history since the Sengoku Period, around the 16th century. Within this city, there is a factory called Matsui Weaving Industry, which specializes in the production of Shikekinu Silk. Shikekinu Silk is a textile that only uses rare silk threads coming from a cocoon made by two silkworms, and its uneven thickness gives it distinctive textures and patterns that cannot be duplicated.  In this episode, we will follow the factory workers and their shared passion and love for this 430-year-old unique textile!
