The impact of global warming is suspected to be the cause.
The Arctic is a region where the effects of climate change are most noticeable on the planet.
The crew of HTB Hokkaido Television Broadcasting follows the advancing collaborative research of the Japanese government and a leading research team of Hokkaido University. Location filming is based in the town at 77 degrees north latitude, Qaanaaq.
For nearly a month, the crew captures the rarely seen, unusual occurrences of the crumbling glaciers.
