Yokohama, a cosmopolitan metropolis close to the capital city of Tokyo, appeared to be the perfect location for major casino operators of the world to develop a new resort location. However, one man stood up to their casino development plans - 91-year-old Yukio Fujiki, a.k.a. the “Don of Hama.” The election for the Yokohama mayor became the decisive battleground that would decide the city’s fate. With an understanding of Yokohama Port’s history, when it came to gambling, Fujiki vowed he would never allow the activity to legally return to the port. From war to dealings with yakuza to becoming the “Don of Hama,” this is the story of Yukio Fujiki’s no-holds-barred battle for his convictions and a fight for his beloved Yokohama Port.
