Wishing for the recovery of their city, local volunteers created Eboshiyama Park. Later, as vitality slowly began to return to the city through the efforts of the volunteers, the park was chosen as one of the "Top 100 Cherry Blossom Viewing Sites in Japan." Now, many people come to visit the city for its Thousand Cherry Blossom Festival.
