The Message of the Ice Island:
From the Frontlines of Global Warming, Greenland

DOCUMENTARY 2013 47 mins Episode(s): 1 japanese Japanese
In recent years, the thick ice on the world's largest island, Greenland, has been decreasing at tremendous speed and scale. The impact of global warming is suspected to be the cause. The Arctic is a region where the effects of climate change are most noticeable on the planet. The crew of HTB Hokkaido Television Broadcasting follows the advancing collaborative research of the Japanese government and a leading research team of Hokkaido University. Location filming is based in the town at 77 degrees north latitude, Qaanaaq. For nearly a month, the crew captures the rarely seen, unusual occurrences of the crumbling glaciers.
